Hope exists in many forms in today's lifestyle. It exists on the personal and the larger scale level within the family for
its kids regarding their futures. Hoping keeps our dreams alive when times are difficult. A common dream and hope can drive
a nation to reach a common goal.
Theologian Saint Thomas
Aquinas once wrote, "Faith has to do with things that are not seen and hope with things that are not at hand". Hope can
take the form of a thought or abstract concept. All that matters is that you believe in something. Your hope takes the form
of belief in either yourself or in greater proportions depending on the situation.
As Diane Sawyer once said,
"Hope changes everything, doesn't it"? Yes, hope does change everything. It can change thoughts and perspectives in a
a difficult situation. It can provide a vision when we need it most for ourselves and our families.
19th Century American President
James Madison once shared, "The happy Union of these States is a wonder; their Constitution a miracle; their example the
hope of Liberty throughout the world". He shared the common hope and dream for the United States when it was a new
independent nation. It was a national dream shared by many individuals over 2 decades. His perspective was shared by both
politician and common citizen alike. In the end, those thoughts set the foundations for today.
Hope is the driving force in our lives on our level and the greater perspective. It can take the form of a long term
goal and can be a difficult road to achieve. However, hope can lead to success given time and through working hard. In the
end, it makes dreams come alive.
