Success and failure are a part of a person's daily life. It comes in personal and career success. However, success tends to be more public than private because individuals love sharing their successes with others. But how do others view success in their lives?

Satenig St. Marie presents an interesting perspective on it, "Success is never a destination-it's a journey". Most success comes from a long personal journey with many small steps along the way. It is the accumulation of those steps that equal success in life.

Booker T. Washington thought of success as, "Success isn't measured by the position you have reach in life; it's measured by the obstacles you overcome". With any journey, there are many interesting twists and turns in reaching success. Those obstacles or twists and turns help build character along the way which leads to learning and eventual success.

Coco Chanel views it as, "Success is often achieved by those who don't know that failure is inevitable". Well known business people know it can be achieved because they never took no for an answer when they started their business. Athletes have known many failures before reaching their personal sports career success.

Babe Ruth put it best when he said, "Never let the fear of striking out get in your way". Success is a frame of mind during the journey to success. A person has to keep in mind the greater picture for it to happen.

Success is not a short or easy journey for it to happen in life. It is never easy, but the end results are priceless when it does happen in our personal and career lives.

Personal Exercises:

* How long did it take to succeed each time?
