Laughter and humor are a significant part of our every day lives. It can come in the form of a joke from another individual or a common every day situation. At the right moment and approach, it can change someone's bad mood around. Other times, we seek it out as a form of entertainment at a local comedy club.

As Mark Twain once wrote, "Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand". In the right setting, laughter is the most contagious thing. Everyone enjoys a good joke and laughter. It starts with a single person, and it spreads as an unifying force throughout the room without another thought.

Gene Mitchener once said, "Laughter is a gift everyone should open". Humor, jokes, and laughter is one of the best gifts when the time is right. The feeling of a good joke shared from parent to child or vice versa can bring a lighthearted look on every day life. It can be a very welcoming feeling and different perspective on a particular situation if explained right in order to avoid hurt feelings.

Group laughter can be a very welcoming feeling either in a comedy club or a joke shared among friends. It can become contagious among a group when a person least expects it. However, it can be a very welcoming and unifying feeling.

Personal Exercises:
* Tell someone your favorite joke.
* Think about an experience where humor helped you heal.
