A community's strength is the strength in its diversity. With diversity, it comes with a variety of thoughts and opinions
on a subject. Each person brings a different experience into the community mix. The experience itself can come in many
forms including family, education, travel, work, and more.
An educator named John W.
Gardner once said, "Life is the art of drawing without an eraser". Everyone is given a clean slate at the beginning of
their life and creates a masterpiece throughout their lives. In the community, it takes many diverse artists to create the
the artwork together as one entire community.
As Ralph W. Sockman once wrote, "The test of
courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority". Public perception comes
in many forms on a situation whether it is good or bad.
The strength of a community comes in many forms because it is perceived in different ways. A first impression can
last throughout a person's lifetime. Each person must work on it every day in order for a community to keep its strength in
good and bad times.
