One of a human being's best qualities is the ability to dream. It gives us comforting and hopeful source for the future even
in our roughest times during our lifetimes. Parents dream about providing an even better future for their children. We even
dream of being in a different place when bored or waiting for something.
A 19th Century English author named
E.V. Lucas once wrote "One of the most adventurous things left us is to go to bed. For no one can lay a hand on our
dreams". In our dreams, anything is possible and can't be touched by our fellow man. The distinct thought belongs to the
person themself and not influenced by another person at that moment in time.
Eugene Ionesco>, a
twentieth century French Dramatist, once wrote "Ideologies separate us. Dreams and anguish bring us together". A nation can
hold a common dream for the future and can be very unifying in everyone's thoughts. The Space Race of the 1950s and
1960s was a common goal of both the government and people. Everyone was very hopeful about about man stepping foot on the
Moon one day.
Swiss author named Elias Canetti
once wrote "All the things one has forgotten scream for help in dreams". No thought goes away in life, but we have the
hope that when something returns it will be for the better.
Dreams can take many forms throughout our lifetimes. They can be very personal and individual or a common dream from
the nation or our society. However, it can bring comfort when we need it most in our lives.
