Christopher Reeve in Nothing is Impossible is a continuation of his previous memoir Still me.
It concentrates on his life after his horseback riding accident in 1995 which damaged his spinal cord
to the point of paralysis.
He provides many insights of what it is like parenting with a physical disability. Many of his
concerns throughout Nothing is Impossible are similar to those of an average parent concerning
his young son and his two older children. He illustrated how he worked around his disability to be
a strong parent for Matthew, Alexandra, and Will.
Faith also played a factor in his life. He talked candidly in his book about his struggle and search
for his religious identity throughout his life. It also talked about how his faith grew stronger in
the months and years after his accident damaging his spinal cord. He illustrated that an accident can
lead to a strengthening of faith despite the challenges a disability can cause in one's life.
The biggest point contained in his memoir is to never give up hope about overcoming a personal
challenge. Until his death, he fought a courageous battle to overcome his paralysis and walk again
through a tough regimine of physical therapy. In addition, he talked about his fight to increase
funding for research into spinal cord injuries to help others in the future including himself. He
had complete faith that he would get out of his wheelchair and walk again in his lifetime.
Overall, Christopher Reeve's Nothing is Impossible sends a powerful inspirational message
that an individual can overcome their his or her challenges. Yet, he also shared his personal triumphs
and his weak moments to provide a very balanced and courageous memoir.
